  藤井製帽の孫として生まれ育った私の原点は
  祖父の代から子守唄代わりに耳にしていた
  ミシンを踏む音
  そしてミシンを踏む父の姿を
  見つめていた時間にあります

  創業者である私の祖父は、広島県北部の世羅郡甲山町（現世羅町）に大衆食堂の長男として誕生しました。
  当時甲山町の地場産業でもあった経木帽子の製造。
  生まれ故郷の木材を用い、地元町民の手によって帽子が
  生み出されるその風景に魅了されたそうです。
  
  帽子の世界に引き込まれた祖父。
  帽子製造の技術を習得し、自身の生業とすることを決断します。
  販路を求めて商いの町である尾道へ行商に出るようになった祖父は、
  藤井家の軒先を借り商売を始めたことがきっかけとなり、
  当家の娘である祖母と結婚しました。
  そして1948年、現在『藤井製帽 小売部』を営む地にて、
  『藤井帽子店』を屋号に掲げ、創業することとなったのです。
  
  祖父母が二人三脚で職人たちと共に築き上げた縫製技術、
  両親が変化する時代に合わせ探求を続けてきた素材開発とデザイン。
  創業時から三代にわたり継承してきた帽子作りへの想いや技術を絶やさぬよう、
  生活にも、装いにも寄り添う帽子を『藤井製帽』は作り続けます。
  
  
  My grandfather, the founder of the company, was born in Kozan-cho (now Sera-cho), Sera-gun
  in the northern part of Hiroshima Prefecture as the eldest son of a popular diner in the town.
  At that time, the local industry of Kozan-cho was the manufacture of farmer hats made of a thin sheet of wood.
  He was fascinated by the scenery of hats being made by the hands of local people using wood from his hometown.
  
  Grandfather was drawn into the world of hats.
  He decided to learn hat-making techniques and make it his profession.
  In search of sales channels, and began to go to Onomichi, a town of commerce, to peddle his hats,
  then He rented the eaves of the Fujii family's house to start his own business,
  which led to his marriage to my grandmother, the daughter of the Fujii family.
  In 1948, he founded the Fujii Hat Store in the same location where the Fujii Hat Retail Shop is now located.
  
  The sewing skills that our grandparents build up by working closely with craftsmen.
  The material development and design that our parents have continued to explore in response to the changing times.
  We will never lose the passion and skills for hat making
  that have been passed down through three generations since the company was founded.
  Fujii Hat will continue to make hats that are a part of our daily lives and our outfits.

  There was a moment when we realized something.
  　
  That hats, carefully and faithfully crafted by human hands,
  could quietly disappear into the world,
  their makers unseen,
  their time forgotten.
  　
  We couldn't let that be the end of the story.
  　
  We wanted to share the time behind every hat—

  the patience,
  the lives devoted to making.
